Summer Sports Camps Scheduled
Does your student want to learn basic fundamentals this summer, even improve their athletic skills, and have fun at the same time? Then DA's summer sports camps are for your child!
Camps will be offered in seven different sports on campus this summer and will be open to children ranging from K5-8th grade, depending upon the camp's targeted age group.
All camps are open to both DA students and non-DA students.
* Lineman--Led by Coach Chris Williams, Williams played seven years in the NFL, following his successful college career at Vanderbilt University, where he was named to the first team All-SEC. Camp will be for both offensive and defensive linemen and will be held Saturay, May 13, for rising 5th-8th graders. Click here for more info.
* Football--Led by head varsity coach Jonathan Quinn, Quinn played for seven years in the NFL as a quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, and Kansas City Chiefs. Camp will be held June 5-8 for rising 2nd-8th graders. Click here for more info.
* Softball--Led by head varsity coach Stacy Swinea, Swinea has 634 wins in her 24-year career at DA! Camp will be held June 5-8 in two different sessions: rising 1st-4th graders and rising 5th-7th graders. Click here for camp details.
* Baseball--Led by head varsity coach Dennis Winn, Winn played college ball for Western Kentucky and Louisiana Tech, then two years for the Philadelphia Phillies' minor league team. Camp will be held June 12-14 for rising 1st-7th graders. Click here for more info.
* Girls Basketball--Lead by head varsity coach Troy Carnes, Carnes brings his discipline and character development tools learned while in the U. S. Army Special Forces and leads his players to apply those on the court. Camp will be held June 19-22 in two different sessions: rising K5-4th graders and rising 5th-8th graders. * Boys Basketball--Led by head varsity coach Kevin Harper (DA '98), Harper just completed his 14th season in coaching. He led the Bears' 2014-15 team to the school's first-ever state tournament appearance and also that year set a school record for the most wins in a season--23. Camp will be held June 19-22 in two different sessions: rising K5-4th graders and rising 5th-7th graders. Click here for more info.

* Volleyball (for BOTH girls and boys)--Led by head varsity coach Kelci Marschall, Marschall played in the Big 10 for Indiana University as a four-year starter and helped the team go to the Sweet Sixteen in 2010, marking the program's best finish ever. Camp will be held June 12-14 and is open to both girls and boys in rising 5th-8th grades. Click here for camp details.
* Cheer--Led by head varsity coach Morgan Dugger (DA '06), Dugger cheered on the Bears throughout her high-school career, and then also at MTSU while in college. Camp is open to rising K5-4th graders where students will work with DA's varsity squad. Click here for more info..
