"Stories of Faith"
Created in 2014, "Stories of Faith" was created as a community faith event to share the power of the gospel through testimonies of notable people.
Inky Johnson, former UT football player who was permanently injured in a game against Air Force in 2006, was the featured speaker for the inaugural event and drew a big crowd. In catching a pass in that game, he landed on his shoulder in such a way that it severed a nerve; he almost bled to death.
Doctors managed to save his life, but he permanently lost the use of his right arm. Despite a lifetime of hard work filled with hopes and dreams of rising out of his difficult circumstances and playing professional football, Johnson had to face the reality of his situation. Without blaming God, he has embraced the experience as having a profound trajectory for the direction of his life in a way that a professional football career never could have done.
Former professional and college football standout--now turned professional actor--Brian Bosworth spoke at our 2015 event.
On the national rollout of his newest movie "Do You Believe?" Bosworth drew a large crowd as he shared his background of growing up trying to please his father and pushing himself to achieve that approval. During his stellar career at Oklahoma University, his widespread success earned him the nickname "The Boz," and the attention he gained led to a tremendous ego of profound arrogance. After playing professionally for three years with the Seattle Seahawks, his flame of fame started to extinguish and he found himself in a pit of despair. An encounter with Jesus turned his life around!

Former UT quarterback and NFL player Heath Shuler was our speaker in April 2016.

Our next Stories of Faith event is planned for Fall 2017.
